French high-performance automaker Bugatti has made a leap into one of the most fashionable product ecosystems. The luxury automaker has unveiled three new smartwatches. The company showcased the new smartwatches in partnership with Austrian luxury smartwatch company Viita Watches.
Viita and Bugatti have selected the Platform kickstarter.com where the watch can be purchased exclusively for a limited time. The company priced the three smartwatches at € 899 (approx. ₹80,000).
Each of the new Bugatti smartwatch models offers multiple technical features that include 90 different sport modes, blood oxygen measurement, acceleration, and specifically for the Bugatti watch a GPS tracking mode. The smartwatches run on Viita’s own software.
The watches are handcrafted and produced by a team of renowned computer and watchmaking experts who use over 1000 individual parts to form the gadget. Bugatti claims that the watches represent the same technical excellence as Bugatti’s hyper sports cars.
The buyer also has options to personalize the watch. Bugatti offers a rubber strap for added comfort or a bespoke titanium strap to complement the titanium theme of the case.
The Bugatti Ceramique Edition One Pur Sport, Bugatti Ceramique Edition One Le Noire and Bugatti Ceramique Edition One Divo editions can each be personalized with a unique bezel to reflect the customer’s personal style.
Features of the new Bugatti smartwatches
The bezel – located at the most exposed point of a watch – is machined from scratch-resistant ceramic to the smallest of tolerances, made possible by a precise CNC process. The glasses for all three models are made of scratch-resistant ceramic, hand-finished in a 20-day production process. With the special key provided, the customer can replace a bezel in one minute.
The smartwatch chassis is formed from a high strength, hypoallergenic cover, forged from lightweight titanium.
The watch can also tell the wearer details about cardiovascular recovery, workout recommendations, biological age, and stress level measurements. The GPS sensor has been specially developed for the Bugatti smartwatch for better accuracy. Wearers can record their lap times and acceleration values automatically recorded by the GPS sensor.
Each smartwatch offers up to 14 days of battery life between charges, made possible by a custom-built 445mAh power cell. The smartwatch comes with a 390×390 pixel LED touchscreen in a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal case. Smartwatches are guaranteed for five years.
Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti Automobiles, said: “At Bugatti we continue to drive innovation in cutting edge technologies, which is why we are delighted with our new collaboration with VIITA Watches. We only select partners who meet Bugatti’s benchmarks for performance, high quality and design execution, without the possibility of compromise, because our customers expect nothing less than perfection. The Bugatti range of smartwatches offers the utmost luxury, bespoke software and functionality embedded in the highest quality materials. “
Martin Konrad, CEO of VIITA Watches, added: “We are a leader in biometric health data for luxury smartwatches, and the Bugatti Chiron is a true automotive shine. It was clear to me and our in-house experts that this level of quality, attention to detail and technical skill had to be reflected in the watch. Now the Bugatti smartwatch is the equal of the wrist – down to the last hidden screw. “
