The festival also saw the first AlUla artist residency which featured the works of six participating artists in The Oasis Reborn exhibition. Located in the Mabiti AlUla palm grove, the exhibition welcomed visitors to the cultural oasis of AlUla and allowed them to discover new perspectives on this ancient landscape.
The AlUla Artist Residency featured pieces created by artists Rashed AlShashai, Sara Favriau, Muhannad Shono, Talin Hazbar, Laura Sellies and Sofiane Si Merabet following their research residency at AlUla. Their works were exhibited at a date farm in central AlUla, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the local landscape and interact with the AlUla community. The Oasis Reborn residency and art exhibition was organized in collaboration with Afalula.
From March 1 to 31, the Barzan Living Gardens, meanwhile, were a showcase of the natural beauty and magnificent heritage of AlUla, as well as the resources of the AlUla Oasis. Visitors, accompanied by guides, were able to explore this living landscape and discover its stories through the prism of art, heritage and nature.
The AlUla Arts Festival also hosted the inaugural edition of the Cortona On The Move International Photography Festival in AlJadidah. As part of the event, 18 artists presented their works. Cortona On The Move, is an international photography festival held in Cortona, a city in Italy and was conceived in 2011 and is now in its 12th edition. It has firmly established itself as a world reference point for photography.
