Ubisoft has announced that its Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was moved from Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, to the “birthplace of the epic Sands of Time trilogy”, Ubisoft Montreal.
“This decision is an important step and the team,” Ubisoft explained in a Tweeter“building on the work done by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, they will now take the time to regroup across the game to bring you the best experience for this remake of an all-time classic, when it will be ready.”
The statement adds, “We would like to thank you for all of the continued support and patience throughout development. Rest assured that we will update you on the progress in a future update.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was originally announced in September 2020 with a release date of January 2021, before being postponed to March 2021 in December 2020. The was then postponed again to February 2021, but this time no new release date.
Ubisoft said the extra time would be used for polish and refinement, ensuring the remake is “faithful to the original”. Currently, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is targeting an interim 2022 release for Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC, but that remains to be seen.
