Tag Heuer doubles up with another limited-edition luxury watch to commemorate the 2021 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix.
Even with a price tag of $ 6,500, the Swiss watchmaker’s former Monaco green dial sold out within weeks. Instead of offering 500 more examples of this timepiece, Tag remixed the model with a material rarely used in Monaco’s long-standing collection: titanium.
The Titan Special Edition’s alloy case protects a shimmering silver dial, which offers enhanced visibility thanks to contrasting black sub-dials and indexes, as well as neutral-colored multi-colored hands with photoluminescent coating.
Bright red accents on the central hand and 12-hour index add a bit of pizzazz to an otherwise understated color palette, while an anthracite rubber alligator strap completes the aesthetic.
Powering the Titan is a modern take on the original Caliber 11 automatic chronograph movement featured in the inaugural Monaco of 1969.
Limited to 500 copies, the Tag Heuer Monaco Titan Special Edition is available for purchase for $ 7,900 now.
